It's time again for the Tour de Scottsdale in DC Ranch this Sunday, October 2, 2011! If you are an avid bicyclist, you’ll want to be there for some of the most beautiful rides through the Southwest!
On Sunday, October 2, 2011 more than 2000 cyclists from around the Valley and around the nation are expected at the Scottsdale Cycling Festival from the Valley and around the nation are expected at the 8th annual Tour de Scottsdale in DC Ranch. The 70-mile Tour de Scottsdale citizen's race benefits the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy and includes a 30 mile mini-tour. The 70-mile tour starts at 7 a.m. with the 30-mile tour beginning at 7:15 a.m.

WHO: Weekend warriors, amateur cyclists, elite cyclists or pros
WHEN: Sunday, October 2, 2011, 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.
WHERE: Market Street at DC Ranch (Pima and Thompson Peak Parkway)
WHY: The Tour de Scottsdale is hosted by the DC Ranch Community Council and benefits the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy (MSC), a non-profit organization dedicated to stewardship of Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Recently Scottsdale was named in the top 10 best cities to live in largely due to their wealth of parks! Proceeds from this event help to connect individuals of all ages to the uniqueness of the desert through MSC’s educational programming, research endeavors and a season of activities in the Preserve. The Tour is the kickoff event for MSC’s 17th annual Season of Discovery, which runs from October through April.
